Philanthropy at City
Bursaries account for 100% of our fundraising efforts at City and are central to the ethos of the school.
Every year, we receive hundreds of requests for bursary support from promising students who have limited financial means. Every year, we sadly have to turn down over 95% of these because we do not yet have the provision to support them. Bursaries bring merit beyond the point of entry, they ensure our school community is reflective of the City in which we live and help us maintain our rich social mix and diverse environment. Transformational bursaries provide a child with full support throughout their time at City and is specifically for families with extremely limited financial means.
Our vision
City provides tangible proof that needs-blind access creates a thriving community where students can achieve, irrespective of their background. However, every year we are still forced to turn away pupils who deserve a City education, simply because we do not have the funds to support them.
It is our vision that, one day, City will be truly needs-blind and allow students to attend on merit alone. To achieve this goal, we need your help.
