Young Lawyers Symposium

CLSG students at the Young Lawyers Symposium

Last Tuesday, we attended the Young Lawyers Symposium at the law firm Fieldfishers. The human rights aspect lay at the heart of this event and we heard many inspiring stories about projects that these human rights lawyers have worked on. This ranged from preventing young girls from being married off at young ages, to international war crimes, to trials and laws surrounding various forms of abuse. Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to network with these influential women, gaining invaluable advice from them about the field, as well as with university students who are studying similar degrees to the ones in which we are interested. Overall this was an extremely inspiring event that taught us so much about human rights law and has inspired us to look further into future events run by the Girls Human Rights Hub!
