Year 8 trip to the Museum of London Docklands

On Monday 13 June, the history department treated 8C and 8L to an exciting trip to the Museum of London Docklands. The students explored the top two floors of the museum, learning all about the docklands from the 17th century onwards, and linking it to their work this term on the Industrial Revolution. Students also learnt about the transatlantic slave trade. One of their favourite aspects of the trip were the dimly-lit alleys of 'sailor town', where 18th century cut-throats could have lurked around every corner.
