Year 7 challenge

Year 7 challenge

On Tuesday all of year 7 gathered to grapple with this term's challenge. To mark International Women's Day next week, the year group contemplated some of the major issues facing women.

After being shocked by the statistic that that there are more men called John than women as heads of FTSE 100 companies, the pupils got into groups to discuss some key questions. These included thinking about whether the thorny issue of positive discrimination, making streets safer, the role men should play in achieving gender equality to tackling unconscious bias in children. The questions prompted animated discussion, and it was a brilliant opportunity to work with pupils in other forms. As you can imagine, there was no shortage of strong opinions and discussions tipped into the corridors and break afterwards. With City Girls in charge of our future, we have little to worry about.
