On Monday 13 June, Alexandra Sheppard - London author of funny and relatable teen fiction - visited City. Alex talked to year 7 and year 8 about her fascinating career path and life as an author. Her first young adult novel - Oh My Gods - was published in 2019 and features Helen, the half mortal daughter of Zeus, who makes us laugh about her teenage disasters in the Greek mythological world. Alex very kindly answered questions and signed everyone’s books after the talk.
Year 12 mathematicians had a great trip to the maths in action conference last week. Topics covered included Fermat's last theorem and transforming mobius strips, how MRI scanners function & how numbers determine which musical notes sound good together.
