We spoke to a group of year 12s enjoying their lunch in the sunshine. Mela, who has joined the Sixth Form from a different school, says she has enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at City. 'Everyone is so welcoming', she says, 'and at Sixth Form there is a real feeling that 'the school trusts you'.

Fresh faces around the school
City is delighted to welcome the newest cohort of pupils to the school. Two new year 7s, Matilda and Isabella, gave up a few minutes of their lunch break to fill us in on how it's been, leaving their friends singing karaoke in the corner.

GCSE results 2020
While year 11s did not have the satisfaction of sitting exams in their GCSE subjects, we applaud them for the work, commitment and grace under pressure that they showed in the face of the Covid-19 lockdown. These all find expression in these final outcome grades, which were, as usual, stellar.

Year 12 mathematicians had a great trip to the maths in action conference last week. Topics covered included Fermat's last theorem and transforming mobius strips, how MRI scanners function & how numbers determine which musical notes sound good together.
