I attended the annual Parliament sitting in the House of Commons, as part of the UK Youth Parliament. Alongside over 400 MYPs from across England, Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland, including representatives from the British overseas territories, I debated five motions on topics such as introducing political literacy education in schools and introducing free public transport for young people. I managed to meet Mr Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, and heard speeches from Rushanara Ali, Jesse Norman, Lauren Sullivan and Josh Barbarinde.
