On Monday, it was our year 8 German class's turn to visit the Goethe-Institut.
We were treated to a screening of Markus Dietrich's Sputnik, a 2013 children's adventure film set in the former East Germany, against the backdrop of the events leading to the fall of the Berlin Wall and eventually to the unification of the two German states. This was once more followed by a tour of the library and a talk about all the learning opportunities at the Goethe-Institut.

Year 12 mathematicians had a great trip to the maths in action conference last week. Topics covered included Fermat's last theorem and transforming mobius strips, how MRI scanners function & how numbers determine which musical notes sound good together.
