Over half term, our GCSE Chinese students embarked on an unforgettable trip to Beijing, Xi’an, and Shanghai, speeding between cities on a 300km/h bullet train. From climbing the Great Wall and visiting the Temple of Heaven to exploring Xi’an’s bustling night markets, our students had the chance to step outside the language lessons into experiencing Chinese culture first-hand. They joined lessons at a local school, practising their language skills and learning to make traditional fans. Their trip ended in Shanghai, admiring the skyline and Pearl Tower.
