Last month students in year 9 attended Arvon, a creative writing retreat based in Shropshire. The week was hosted by our tutors, Malika Booker and Freddie Machin. In the mornings, we completed different exercises involving creative writing and we had the opportunity to compose poems, short stories and descriptive pieces of writing. Besides writing, we were able to cook for one another in the evenings. We also enjoyed our hike to Clun Castle on Wednesday afternoon. All in all, we had a wonderful experience!
Year 12 mathematicians had a great trip to the maths in action conference last week. Topics covered included Fermat's last theorem and transforming mobius strips, how MRI scanners function & how numbers determine which musical notes sound good together.
