We were thrilled to welcome Professor John Mullan of University College London, one of the foremost scholars of eighteenth-century literature, to City. In this most perfect end to our day, Professor Mullan captivated the audience with his lecture, ‘Endings in Fiction’, reminding us that endings aren’t where stories stop, but are instead where meaning begins. Drawing on his extensive expertise, Professor Mullan offered fresh perspectives on how authors craft unforgettable conclusions, even weaving familiar texts from our own syllabuses into his discussion.
