Tacitus Lecture

A group of sixth formers attended the annual Tacitus Lecture. Hosted by the Worshipful Company of World Traders, we heard from Pamela Coke-Hamilton, the executive director of the International Trade Centre, on how to create winds of change in an uncertain world. We learnt about the importance of free trade, before we had the chance to ask Ms Coke-Hamilton whether she believed free market solutions or government solutions were better suited for reaching our sustainable development goals. After the speech, we met other students and guests to discuss the evening. We found the entire event extremely insightful, particularly due to the current trade climate of growing protectionism through tariffs.
