Success at the National Cipher Challenge!

In the Autumn Term, an enthusiastic group of Computer Science students participated in 2022's National Cipher Challenge, under the team name CLSGCHQ, captained by Elissa (Year 12).

Every Thursday after school, the team worked to crack the newly released ciphers within the deadlines to attain maximum points. The ciphers became more and more difficult as the term went on, ending with a complicated variation on the "Cadenus" cipher that took days to crack. With dedicated effort and an inspired used of cribs from the storyline, Sara (Year 10) found the key to the final cipher. In the end, the team successfully cracked all the ciphers over the course of the competition and are delighted with their joint-7th place nationally.
