Celebrating music from the movies in our spring concert

On Monday the music department staged a wonderful spring concert, which celebrated music from the movies. The evening included performances from a number of ensembles including junior, senior, sixth form and chamber choirs, sixth form string quartets, senior string ensemble and senior orchestra. Highlights included an incredible rendition of the first movement from Grieg's Piano Concerto by music scholar Cristina in year 12 accompanied by the orchestra, a beautiful performance of 'When She Loved Me' from Toy Story 2 by the chamber choir and two chilling movements from the musical suite of the classic horror film Psycho by the senior string ensemble. The evening ended with a flourish of excitement with the music of How To Train Your Dragon and Pirates of the Caribbean performed by senior orchestra. Huge congratulations to all those involved.
