We had the chance to represent City at the SHHS fictional worlds debating competition. We debated in the worlds of Harry Potter, Ready Player One, and Fahrenheit 451. Not only did we convince judges with our thought-provoking points, but we also had the chance to slip into the shoes of characters from our favourite novels; for example, one of the questions was ‘this house regrets the appointment of Dumbledore as headmaster of Hogwarts’. Obviously, this controversial question inspired us to think outside the box and debate with what we may not necessarily agree on.
