Congratulations to Tianer, year 10, who was awarded 2nd prize and to Haiyin who was awarded a Certificate of Distinction. Ana in year 7 won 3rd prize, and Lara in year 8 was awarded a Certificate of Merit.
The junior and senior challenges consist of a selection of interesting mathematical questions for pupils to attempt at home. This year a number of students again took up the challenge, sending in well thought-out, well explained, comprehensive solutions to the problems presented.

Year 12 mathematicians had a great trip to the maths in action conference last week. Topics covered included Fermat's last theorem and transforming mobius strips, how MRI scanners function & how numbers determine which musical notes sound good together.
