Ski competition

CLSG students at Flaine ski race

In late January, City’s downhill ski team headed to Flaine to compete in this year’s British Schoolgirls’ Races. The trip started well when the students met and spoke to ‘Chuck Bass’ (of Gossip Girl fame) at Geneva airport. City’s A team consisted of Darcey, Kate and Maria. In the B team, we had Marie, Amelie and Astrid. They spent time on the slopes of Flaine with a coach, sharpening their racing skills before the slalom and giant slalom races took place. Despite this being the first year in which City’s ski team did not contain any registered downhill racers, the team still performed extremely well; the A team won third place as the 'best non-registered team' for the combined slalom and giant slalom events! Kate even brought home the Old Flaine Cup for the fastest non-registered U18 skier. Congratulations to the entire team for their fabulous team spirit throughout, and for another successful year of competing at the British Schoolgirls’ Races.
