Rowing beyond the Tideway

Students rowing at Eton Dorney

A group of City rowers ventured to Eton Dorney Lake for rowing sessions led by Olympians Gillian Lindsay (silver medallist at Sydney) and Karen Bennett (silver medallist at Rio). All the participants made huge progress in both technique and confidence, and many even tried single sculling for the first time, bravely sharing the water with the GB under-23 national team and rowers from schools all over the UK. With only one unscheduled dip into the freezing water, these sessions were a huge success and a taste of what rowing can offer beyond the Tideway.
