"In Karate Challenge, we have been learning how to do the Japanese martial art karate. We have also been learning the Japanese numbers up to 4, (ichi, ni, san, shi). In our lessons, we learnt how to do forward stance (a way to stand in karate) as well as a few other different stances! It was a really fun lesson! Our sensei (teacher in Japanese) was really easy to follow and we all learnt loads. We’ve only had one lesson so far but we are looking forward to learning more karate this year!"

The senior Physics Challenge is notorious for setting complex and mentally demanding questions, so congratulations to the year 12s who participated and well done to Harshana for achieving the top score in the school!

Testing testing 1, 2, 3
We opened our newly-built asymptomatic testing centre in the New Hall on Friday 5 May. The site's first customers were year 13 students, who entered to perform a self-swab, guided by our friendly group of trained alumnae, equipped and ready to assist students through the process.

Year 12 mathematicians had a great trip to the maths in action conference last week. Topics covered included Fermat's last theorem and transforming mobius strips, how MRI scanners function & how numbers determine which musical notes sound good together.
