CLSG students with certificates for at the annual Worshipful Company of Scriveners’ Handwriting Awards

It was lovely to see City girls winning prizes for outstanding penmanship at the annual Worshipful Company of Scriveners’ Handwriting Awards last month. Hosted by the Sheriffs of the City of London and held in the dramatic foyer of the Old Bailey, Gurbani took first prize in year 7 and Flora took first prize in year 9. Our winners beat stiff competition from CLS, Freemen’s, St Paul’s Cathedral School, and newcomers to the competition, Reed’s and Bancrofts with over 750 entrants casting their hats (or pens?) in the ring. To enter, each student had to copy out passages from works by A.A. Milne in their best handwriting; having seen every City entry, we know the standard was really high. Well done Flora and Gurbani!
