Public speaking competition

On Thursday 7 November, City hosted the inaugural grand finals of our joint public speaking competition with CLS.  Over the last half term, almost 100 students took part in preliminary qualifiers in each school, and the eight highest scorers progressed to the finals. These finalists dazzled an audience of students, staff and parents with their captivating rhetorical performances, discussing a fascinating array of topics, including education, criminal justice, the environment, and more. The eventual winners were CLSG student, Ivana (year 8) for the lower school stream and CLS student Oscar (year 10) for the senior school stream. Congratulations to both, and we look forward to seeing this exciting new competition return again next year!
