Primary Summer School

In August 2022, CLSG played an important part in the launch of the inaugural Family of Schools Primary Summer School.  Year 4 pupils from all four state primary schools within the City of London Family of Schools joined us for a three day programme of curriculum consolidation and enrichment.  Hosted at City of London School, CLSG teachers led sessions within the summer school, including a biology session in which pupils were able to handle and explore a wide variety of skulls which was hugely engaging for pupils.  We are delighted that primary English and maths sessions were expertly led by one of our primary partners, Katherine Mills from Galleywall.  Pupils crafted poetry and enjoyed problem solving, as well as spending an immersive cultural day at Museum of London.  The three day event concluded with a parent and carer celebration event in which pupils read their poetry aloud and reflected on the impact of the summer school on their learning and thinking.  We are delighted that the event was a resounding success and hope to replicate this success in the future.  Many thanks to the staff and pupils involved.
