Last Thursday, year 13 English students attended the EMC poetry conference at Friends House in Euston.
Students were given talks by poets Patience Agbabi, Vicki Feaver and Ian Duhig, and had the unique opportunity to ask in-depth questions about their poems ‘Eat Me’, ‘The Gun’ and ‘The Lammas Hireling’. Barbara Bleiman also worked on their unseen poetry skills for their A Level Paper 2 with her lecture on how to effectively compare poems. Overall, the trip was a fantastic way to enrich their knowledge of poetry beyond the classroom.
