Mystery solved at the RSC Schools’ Analyst competition!

chemistry comp

A group of keen year 12 chemists took part in the RSC Schools' Analyst competition.

Working together to solve mysteries from the 'Grand Baking Competition', they carried out several challenges using titrations, test tube reactions and thin paper chromatography, all to finally unmask the saboteur. The all day competition tested a wide range of our experimental skills, as well as making us try out new techniques where we were able to apply our knowledge. During our calculations we luckily received help from the periodic table.
