We traded the classroom for the conference room as we plunged into the wonderfully chaotic world of global diplomacy at the St Paul’s Girls’ School MUN. Representing Mexico and Belgium, we debated everything from protecting healthcare workers to the ripple effects of China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The final crisis, a sabotaged dam in Afghanistan, had us negotiating at lightning speed and discovering new diplomatic talents we didn’t know we had. By the end, we learnt that diplomacy is messy, unpredictable, and brilliant fun.
