Computer science students visited the Meta Office for a one-of-a-kind experience! Our day began with a tour of the building, filled with various distinctive rooms such as the music room and games room. After this we attended a panel and heard many inspiring women from Meta discuss their work before having the opportunity to ask them questions. Next, we heard a talk on how Instagram reels are created and what makes them so successful, before having the chance to create our own reels. We also tried out the new RayBan smart glasses that contain a camera and speakers, allowing you to simultaneously listen to music, take pictures and videos, as well as stream on Instagram! We even had the chance to try out the unreleased Meta Quest 3 virtual reality headset. This was my first time trying VR, and this trip has provided valuable insight into how computer science can become a career path.
