May the fourth be with you…

On Wednesday 4th May our year 13 musicians presented their Leavers' Concert to celebrate their time at City. Highlights of the evening included a Star Wars medley, complete with light-up instruments that became lightsabers, a beautiful rendition of Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D Major by Lizzie and the String Ensemble, and Calver's Carollers singing an a cappella arrangement of 'Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend'. The evening finished with a bang as the year 13 band Baker's Dozen performed an energetic rendition of 'River Deep, Mountain High'. The concert was a excellent example of how City’s thriving musicians take ownership of their musical learning. We wish all the leavers the best of luck with their future pursuits!
