Maths in action trip 2

When in lessons, it's often quite difficult to grasp the idea that maths truly is everywhere and can be applied to situations you would never expect. Our maths in action trip helped us to realise this with an experience that left us amazed. The day consisted of five key speakers who covered various topics that were new to us. All of the talks were incredible; the topics ranged from Fermat's last theorem and transforming mobius strips, moving on to how MRI scanners function as well as how numbers determine which musical notes sound good together. Along with the very helpful exam tips, the trip was very useful for a future in maths.
