On Friday, Ms Arif arranged an enrichment trip to see the musical Mandela.
We were impressed by the talent of the actors and how well they showcased the devastating story of apartheid in South Africa. The storyline of Mandela’s time in prison was cleverly portrayed, which had an even greater impact on the audience as we fully understood the feelings of the protagonists. This made a significant episode of history feel more tangible and it was extremely thought-provoking. I particularly enjoyed the equal focus between Mandela’s time in prison and the anti-apartheid movement led by his wife, Winnie Mandela.
