Makyth Ventures Entrepreneurship Workshop

On Monday 28 February, students spent the afternoon with Makyth Ventures, Winchester College’s new entrepreneurship and innovation hub, in a business building simulation. Students came together from a range of year groups in ten teams of five to compete as new architecture companies in a world of raw spaghetti and marshmallow. With each (edible) building block coming at a competitive and fluctuating price, the teams had to negotiate, budget carefully to create their structures, and pay attention to sudden flash sales! Teams pitched for the rights to exclusive distribution of their giant marshmallow structures, wrote a proposal for a bank loan, invested in research and development and even insured themselves against collapse!
