As part of our school’s celebration of LGBTQ+ History Month, our latest City Public Debate teamed up with the Pride Society to tackle a big question: should queer roles in film and TV only be played by queer actors? A sharp, student‑led debate brought plenty of nuance, passion, and a few theatrical flourishes. In the end, the audience decided the opposition had made the stronger case, and the motion was voted down.
