Our joint concert with City of London Freemen's School took place last night in the beautiful St James’s Church in Piccadilly.
It began with a powerful performance from the joint brass ensemble with several pieces including the City schools' fanfare. It was followed by a multitude of trios, quartets and quintets from both schools which were all at an incredibly high standard. There was a joint cello ensemble whose performance of Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 was a great display of talent from both schools. The night ended with a large joint string ensemble, with two dancing movements of Danzas de Panama, then ending with a rousing performance of the Holberg Suite 1st movement (Grieg):an exciting finish to a fantastic night filled with a lot of phenomenal music.
