Congratulations to Isi in Year 8, whose presentation “Wordle: The Numbers Game” won the 11-15 year-old category in the annual essay competition of the British Society for the History of Mathematics. She’s pictured being presented with her award by Gresham Professor of Geometry Sarah Hart. Professor Hart is the first woman in over 400 years to hold the UK’s oldest chair in mathematics, and we are also very proud to count her as a City alumna!

Year 12 mathematicians had a great trip to the maths in action conference last week. Topics covered included Fermat's last theorem and transforming mobius strips, how MRI scanners function & how numbers determine which musical notes sound good together.
