You may remember that Fiona Grady, a textile artist who is known for her geometric prints, ran a workshop for students before the Easter break. We are delighted that the artwork, entitled 'Barbican Confetti', is now finished and takes pride of place in the windows of our main hall, inspired by students' impressions of their surroundings.
Fiona worked with the students to help them appreciate how light, colour, surface and scale interact to produce impactful work. The Barbican's iconic architectural complexity is both uplifted and tempered by the vivid orange and yellow vinyl arrangement. Thank you to all the year 7 to 10 students who contributed to the final piece in celebration of the Coronation.
