Inspiring leaders

This week, four year 13 students attended The Charter Student Leadership Conference at Wimbledon High School. This event was an opportunity for student leaders to engage with peers from other school to ask difficult questions about inclusion, diversity and belonging. Claire Harvey gave an insightful speech on her experience as a disabled woman of the LGBTQ+ community. Workshops were held on finding opportunities to foster more inclusive communities and another workshop posted critical questions about political neutrality, civil discourse and social media. It was a great day and an opportunity to implement the theme of Black History Month this year, time for change: actions, not words. We hope that the skills of leadership enriched through this conference will allow us to bring about change in communities and wider society.
