Our year 12 students have been making remarkable progress in the prestigious Industrial Cadet Gold Programme, run in partnership with the Engineering Design Trust (EDT). This initiative provides hands-on experience in solving real-world engineering challenges. Over the past few months, students have met weekly with their mentor from Arcadis to design a footbridge for a site in Cardiff. They recently took their project to the next level, working with engineers at UCL's Mechanical Engineering MechSpace. Together, they refined their designs, created CAD models, and used state-of-the-art equipment to construct scale models of their footbridge. The next phase of the programme will involve finalising their design documentation in preparation for a presentation to Arcadis this summer. We can't wait to see their completed project!
