Hispanic play competition

Following our prize-winning debut at the French play competition, CLSG continued the winning streak at the Hispanic play competition last Wednesday, receiving the prize for Best Original Group Performance. They performed an extract from Lorca's play The Shoemaker's Wife in Spanish. Raffi, Holly (Y13), Matilda (Y12), Avni, Tara and Francesca (Y11) were praised by the judges for their collective efforts to lift Lorca's notoriously lyrical prose off the page. Holly in year 13 also won Best Actress in a supporting role for her masterful performance of el niño (young) boy. This was a huge achievement, especially given the wonderful performances of 12 schools from across the country who took part.
