Harvard Debating trip

Harvard debating

Last week, a group from year 11 and year 12 students travelled to Boston to take part in the Harvard World Schools Invitational debating competition.

We debated motions on the right to be forgotten, secession, moral enhancement pills and banning for-profit tuition. Both teams put in impressive performances, and one team was very close to reaching the Octofinals, having won the 4 out of 7 debates needed to progress. Unfortunately they narrowly missed out due to speaker points. We were also able to visit Harvard and Tufts universities, and tour around historic Boston.
