Hansel and Gretel review

CLSG students performing 'Hansel and Gretel'

Two weeks ago, the cast of Hansel and Gretel transported their audience into a magical world through their non-traditional retelling of this classic fairytale. The play followed Hansel and Gretel, who happily lived with their parents until famine devastated their home. They soon decide to flee to the forest so that their parents would have enough food to survive. Within the forest, they encounter a witch and her American bald eagle sidekick, Birdie. When the witch reveals her true identity and attempts to eat the children, Hansel and Gretel manage to push the witch into the fire and return home to their loving parents. This production was such a delight for all the cast to participate in. I can speak for us all when I say that it feels strange to no longer be in rehearsals... I’m not sure what to do with my lunchtimes anymore!
