Giulia, a talented year 11 student, has spent her summer competing in international tennis tournaments - with great success!
In July, Giulia played two International Tennis Federation tournaments in Edinburgh - in one she reached the quarter finals in the singles and in the other she came runner up in the doubles with her partner Isabelle - both very good results given that these are junior tour international competitions in the 18 and under category.
Following these tournaments Giulia joined her team mates from her performance centre to play in the 18U Premier Division National Finals, coming up third overall. She was then invited to join the Surrey Ladies' team in the prestigious Summer County Cup event on the grass courts of Eastbourne (a 5-day doubles tournament with some of the very best players in the country). Even though Giulia and Isabelle were by far the youngest ones in a team of ten players, they managed to win several matches contributing to the final third place for the Surrey team.
Everyone at City could not be more proud of Giulia. We wish her the best of luck as she continues to compete in International Tennis Federation tournaments this autumn, alongside her studies at City.
