On Friday 21 June, we were invited to a prizegiving ceremony at Oxford University's Bodleian Library, as winners of the Oxford German Olympiad. Both Penelope (year 8) and I won awards for this year's competition on the theme of animals, taking inspiration from the animal stories of Franz Kafka. At the ceremony, we listened to professors from Oxford University discuss Kafka's writing, and even attended an exhibition about Kafka following the prize-giving.
