ESU-Churchill public speaking competition

CLSG students on the Barbican highwalk

Last Wednesday, we entered two teams of three into the ESU-Churchill public speaking competition, the largest public speaking competition in England. In each team, we had a speaker, a chair and a questioner, who got to work with the other schools competing to perform and analyse the speeches. From this experience, we have developed our public speaking abilities and confidence. The topics ranged from sports and politics to the hidden meanings behind famous artworks! We had great success, and both teams progressed to the next round of the competition, which will be taking place after the Christmas holidays.
