DigiDay

Students taking part in DigiDay

Our students immersed themselves in a day of digital learning. In a workshop on Generative AI and ethics, Nick Noorak from Stand‑Up Computing offered a brilliant introduction to GenAI, culminating in students generating virtual elephants that stood proudly in the main hall! He also tackled the bigger elephant in the room: the ethical dilemmas behind emerging technologies. This set the stage for our lively tech debates, where students explored real‑world examples of emerging technologies and the ethical questions they raise. Meanwhile, the Natural History Museum ran an engaging GIS workshop, with students mapping weather and microclimate data across the Barbican, helped along by the rain and wind outside! Venturing beyond the Barbican, our Urban Wildlife in AR session revealed how London’s animals cleverly adapt to city life, giving students a hands‑on taste of augmented reality and urban ecology.
