Dieu du Carnage

CLS and CLSG students performing for the Amelia Ward production

Playground fights, clafoutis recipes, murdered hamsters and gender wars were the subjects of this year's Amelia Ward production. Zoe and Sofia (year 12), alongside Henry and Max (CLS students), performed Yasmina Reza's comedy, Dieu du Carnage (God of Carnage). They brilliantly conveyed the complex marital dynamics, embodying the rather unsavoury views of their characters and keeping pace with the script's rapid gear shifts - and in French no less, with subtitles expertly handled by Leandro, Agatha and Emilia! They previously performed an extract of this at the French theatre competition in March, winning the prize for best group in the French category, and we were delighted to have them perform this piece for our audience at City.
