Debating success at SPGS

"We were faced by an interesting variety of motions," they explained, "including ‘This house would not allow unvaccinated children to attend state schools’ and ‘This House believes that the school strikes for climate change did more harm than good’. Placing first in all of our rounds, we advanced to the final where we debated the motion ‘This House opposes the regendering of established male characters in popular culture’."

It certainly seems like weekly debate training is paying dividends for our debaters. City competed at the same competition last September, placing 50th overall. This time the school placed first and second best speakers, setting a high bar for future years. Many congratulations to all the teams.
