Last Wednesday, we took part in the annual national Spanish debating competition at NLCS.
We were treated to some delicious Spanish dishes including paella and our personal favourite, churros con chocolate! Next were the debates. We had prepared three motions on topics relating to the monarchy, unisex toilets, and artificial intelligence, only finding out at the last minute on which side we were going to argue. We needed to work hard to rebut the other teams' arguments and were very pleased to draw in the first debate and win the following two. Despite not proceeding to the next round, the experience was an enriching one, and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
