A group of students competed in the prestigious Oxford Schools debating competition at a regional heat held at South Hampstead High School. We were given two surprise motions and had the chance to meet and debate with teams from various schools. Our public speaking teams also impressed in the ESU Churchill Competition’s second round, delivering compelling speeches and insightful arguments. We’re thrilled that our second team is through to the London finals in March!
We also triumphed in the virtual Cambridge Schools Debating Competition, despite the challenges of online debating. Cecilia and Ines (year 13) secured 4th place and a spot in the national finals! Well done to Eira and Grace (year 11), who finished 7th - just shy of qualification but still an incredible achievement.
