On Monday 8 November, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally DBE, the 133rd of Bishop of London, for our final City@6 lecture of 2021, entitled 'Health: The Air That We Breath'.
Dame Mullally explored the impact that air pollution has on our health as Londoners and on the process of climate change as a whole. Drawing on her scientific background as the ex-Chief Nursing Officer at the Department of Health, she underscored the importance of maintaining biodiversity and mitigating temperature increases, as these problems affect the poorest of society, those least responsible for causing them. She finished with a thought-provoking message: "If we think of humanity as a family, and work towards a future based on our common good, we could find ourselves living in a very different world".
