City welcomes Floyd Steadman OBE

CLSG students listening to a talk from Floyd Steadman OBE

Earlier this week, Floyd Steadman OBE spoke to students in years 11-13 during a PSHCE lesson. Floyd detailed the experiences of his life as a black boy in the care system and his journey to success as a professional rugby player, before becoming headteacher of multiple schools and a Freeman of the City of London. It was an inspiring speech, demonstrating the prevalence of bias everywhere, and the effects it can have on marginalised communities.
