Chair’s dinner

Group photo of year 13 students at the chair's dinner

We are delighted to have celebrated our wonderful City community at the annual Chair’s Dinner. Held at Mansion House this year, in honour of our 130th anniversary, the dinner is an annual event hosted by the chair of our board of governors, Robert Howard. In addition to a barnstorming speech from Mrs Brown (which can be read here), we had amazing music from year 11 and year 12 musicians Chloe, Frances, Rose, Shean and Saffiya. This was followed by a witty whistle-stop tour through City’s history, with declamations from senior committee members Anna, Astrid, Ayomi, Meghan and Yilu. A further highlight of the evening was a speech from a special guest, barrister Sarah O’Keeffe (CLSG class of 2012), who shared a brief history of her time at City with us. Focusing on the importance of inclusivity at City, Sarah’s speech was a powerful reminder of the fact that egalitarian access to education is a pillar of our community. We also learned that she is keen on rowing so you might soon see her in Docklands with our new team! Many thanks to everyone who joined us on the night; we were so glad to have you there.
